Starting college!

  • Feb. 22nd, 2008 at 5:27 PM

So, I'm starting college the 1st of April and I'm so excited!!  I'm quitting my job at the Humane Society to be a full-time student.  I'm actually sick of work.  I like it there, but the drama and all the chemicals we work with everyday has been making everyone sick.   :-(  I'll miss almost everyone, but I want to start college and get some classes in before I have to go back overseas, which they're saying is coming up sometime next year.  I'm betting earlier than later.  Anyway, the classes I'm taking are Beginning Algebra, Composition I, and Intro to Sociology.  Yay!

Update on me.

  • Feb. 17th, 2008 at 10:24 PM

So...where to start?  Actually, not much is different from when I last posted, but here we go:

My car is still awesome, and I can't wait to put things on it!  Like some cool illegal tint like I have on my last car, some vinyl and rims....ahhhh...lol.

Work is going ok, even with the whole 'bird food debacle' thing.  I had a talk with my manager about it and she was cool with everything.  When we had our next kennel worker meeting, though, she made a point of telling people they weren't allowed to take stuff without her or Bob's (the executive director) approval.  I felt as though all eyes were on me, although I KNOW other people take things without asking....I felt a little angry that it was my situation that got brought out into the open.  But whatever.

I am registering for my first college classes EVER, and I'm pretty excited about it, however work has basically taken over my life and I forgot to do some things I was supposed to do before registering for classes.  I hope that this doesn't effect my registration process, 'cause if it does, then I'll have to wait until the next quarter to sign up for classes, and by then I just won't even decide to go.  I have to take three math classes to make up my deficiency for me to get accepted into our University and then hopefully I can start on majoring in Wildlife management....and from there on to an emphasis on birds of prey!  It'll be a long freakin' process, and with another deployment in the forcast (more on this later), it'll take me a while to get through college period.  And back to work.....I'm working full time there right now, but I let my manager know that I was going to be signing up for classes....I told her that I was going to be taking night classes, but they're not offering night classes this quarter.  And on top of that, I want to get some more gen ed classes done so I won't have to do them when I get to the Uni.  Problem is, I wouldn't be able to work full time anymore because of the class times and the stress that it's gonna put on me.  I really just want to quit my job and be a full-time student, but I don't have the finances for that right now.  Ah, what to do....

I found out a week ago that my Army unit is on the 'hit list' to go back overseas.  They're saying during the fiscal year 2009, which starts this coming October, but I kinda wish it was sooner.  I am sick of the states because it's so monotonous and I'm sick of the day-to-day drama, the money dependence and all of the other bullshit.  *Sigh*

The guy issue:  I FINALLY, after almost five months after me and my ex broke up, slept with another guy!  Now I don't want to sound like a whore or nothing, but this is actually a big step for me.  I was too attached to my ex, wondering every second of almost every day (lol) what he was doing and if he was sleeping with another girl.  It tore me apart and stressed me out.  Just thinking of 'getting over him' and sleeping or seeing another guy was torture to me: and not in the good way.  So.....I finally slept with another guy!  LOL  I feel so much better and I do feel like I'm finally over my ex, and it feels liberating.  The 'guy' is actually a very good friend of mine and we've had a history together, so it wasn't like I went and slept with some random guy, so don't look at me like that!  LOL

I'm a little annoyed and pissed....

  • Feb. 8th, 2008 at 5:38 PM

So, I just got a call from my manager and she proceeds to tell me that someone told her that I took some animal food home with me.  I told her, yes, I did, and even told her what it was.  Then she tells me that I wasn't supposed to, that it was shelter property, and that I had to return it.  For those of you who don't know, I work at my local humane society.  I had taken some wild finch food; I was told by some of my co-workers that I could have it because they'll never use it, so I took it.  Anyway, now I'm pissed 'cause I know who told her: it was a bitch that works in the office and she continually checks up on what the kennel staff is doing because for SOME reason, she thinks that she's our manager.  I dislike her very, very much, and I'm pretty sure she made it sound like I had knowingly STOLEN it.  So, now my good rep with the shelter is probably tarnished.  And on top of that little jewel, I had to put one of my cats down a couple of days ago because he was infected with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritinitis), which is a fatal disease.  I of course was stricken and balled my eyes out for two days straight.  My other cat is so lonely now, but I cannot get another cat yet....the pain is still too much.  And I would feel like it was easy to replace him, which it IS NOT. Anyway, just thought I'd rant....hope everyone has a good weekend!

Got my car!!

  • Feb. 4th, 2008 at 7:37 PM

Decided to get my car and she's a beaut!!  Fast, sleek, sexy, and suave...everything I like about a car.  I've had a couple of issues with her since I got her, such as a parklight being out, my passenger-side headlight shining too high, and my "service engine soon" light coming on the second day.  I'm hoping that the engine light is just a minor problem, or else I'm gonna be pissed, so I'm gonna have my dad, who's a mechanic, look at it for me soon.  Otherwise, everything is fine and I've had a blast driving around in her!  Haven't thought of a name yet, but it'll come to me. Lol.  I'll post some pics of me with my car when it's decent enough outside for it.  :-)

Should I get this car or not?

  • Jan. 30th, 2008 at 5:52 PM

So, this is really just a question to myself, I don't expect anyone to answer, but I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to get this car that I mentioned in my last post or not.  They got everything fixed on it, and I still think it's a damn good deal....but I'm having a hard time thinking about not having my Monte Carlo anymore.  I form really strong attachments to my vehicles, and I don't want to see it go!!  It's just going to my parent's house (they're buying it from me when they get the money), and I can still see it every now and then (lol), but.....  *laughs slightly hysterically*  I can't believe I'm making such a big deal about this!!  It is a big investment, and I just want to make sure I'm getting my money's worth and not a piece of shit.  I've had it checked out and everything looks good on it, though, so I shouldn't be scared about that, but I still have my doubts.  My dream car has always been an Eclipse, and now that I can afford to get one, I want to get it!  Lol....  Some of my doubts include waiting to get one until I can just pay the whole thing of without a loan, which would be in about five months, but I'm impatient and want this one....oh damn.  It's not the color I wanted but it's so pretty....

New car.

  • Jan. 24th, 2008 at 7:33 PM

So, I've been researching cars 'cause it's about time I got another one:  I have a '98 Chevy Monte Carlo LS right now, and there has been so many things that have been going wrong with it.  As of right now, one of the headlights is skewed off 'cause my mom hit a deer with it when I was overseas my second tour.  We've tried to fix it, but to no avail.  The driver's side window will not roll down, and I had just recently replaced the switch too.  So that's basically $68 for nothing.  My cigarette lighter won't work, so I no longer am able to use my radar detector or my iPod (through my stereo).  My alternator went out recently also, and I had to get that replaced.  My air compressor from my A/C went out, so that needs to be replaced....and my engine has 153,000 miles on it.  Yea, i've only had the car for two years, but I think it's time for a new one.  I've been wanting to get a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT for a very long time, and I finally got to test drive one today.  It was so awesome!!  lol I LOVE sleek, sexy cars that go really fast, and this one fit the bill.  I've been wanting a black one, but this one is silver and it looks good enough.  It has almost 66,000 miles (it's a 2001) on the engine and they want $9500 for it.  I don't think that's too bad of a price, however I did find a couple of things wrong with it:  the side view mirrors adjuster wouldn't work, and the digital readout for the clock and things that go wrong with the engine wasn't working.  I told the guy that if I ended up buying the car, that I wanted those things fixed or I wanted a reduction in price.  He said he would see what he could do.  The car also had some exterior dings and dents, but only a few, and a long scratch on the passenger side.  That was very light, though, and could easily be buffed out.   One thing that I really like about it is that the stereo wasn't factory: the previous owner had installed a store bought pioneers system that totally kicked ass!  So, I'm still thinking about getting it, and if anyone would like to comment on my situation, feel free to.  I would like to know if anyone has owned or had experience with these cars and what you think of them.  Thanks!!  :)
